Elena Siciliani, a jewellery maker from Milan, laments not having a signature technique. However, while none of her pieces look alike, there must be something distinctive about her work, since anyone who knows her recognises her pieces and artistry. Perhaps, it may be her “touch”, the way she approaches materials moulding them or perhaps it is her sculptural approach to jewellery: just like Gianfranco Ferrè, better known as the Architect of Fashion, Elena has a background in architecture. Or maybe it is the fact that all her jewels have something mystical about them, due to her way of addressing materials, gemstones and organic elements, somehow taking into consideration their intrinsic energies.

Molti dei miei gioielli provengono da una lavorazione che si chiama fusione a cera persa, sono fusioni d’argento, bronzo oppure ottone, li realizzo a mano nel mio laboratorio pertanto sono tutti pezzi unici e parte di collezioni limitate.

I metalli utilizzati non contengono nikel ma è possibile che il bronzo e l’ottone lascino dei leggeri segni scuri, azzurri o verdi, sulla pelle (dipende dal ph di ciascuno di noi), non sono una reazione allergica e scompaiono completamente lavando la parte con acqua e sapone.

Con il passare del tempo tutti i metalli, tranne l’oro, subiscono un’alterazione del colore dovuta all’ossidazione, si possono comunque pulire molto facilmente con il detergente per il bronzo, ottone o argento e un panno morbido, risciacquare con acqua e sapone accuratamente prima di indossarli di nuovo.

Many of my jewelry comes from a process that is called lost wax casting, castings are silver, bronze or brass, I realize them by hand in my workshop so they are all unique and part of limited collections.
The metals used do not contain nickel but it is possible that the bronze and brass light of leave dark marks, blue or green, on the skin (depending on the pH of each of us) are not an allergic reaction and disappear completely by washing the area with soap and water.
With the passage of time all metals except gold, undergo a change in color due to oxidation, you can still clean very easily with the cleaner for bronze, brass or silver and a soft cloth, rinse with water and soap thoroughly before wearing again
